KINDERGARTEN BLUES

Just wondering if anyone going through the same thing. Went to register Ryan for kindergarten at Whitehall. Yes I know he is going to be a "ZEPHYR". What a process this is. I think some criminals get evaluated less. It is definately a good thing though. The screening process of putting your child into school has come a long way. We went through five stations and an hour later still don't know if he is going am or pm kindergarten? But we had to make bus plans if we wanted him bussed and if it was to be am or pm? MJ maybe you know more about this?

not quite sure what your asking, I know in our district alot of the placement depends on where you live. Certain developments go AM others PM that way they need fewer busses and can cover an area that's more condenced instead of being spread out through the entire district. Daycare comes into play as well because your daycare may not register at the same school that your home address would. We have 7 elemetary schools in East Penn so it gets complicated. Personally I asked for both my kids to go PM just because they could sleep longer and they would be well rested. I was at home then so it didn't matter. Most working parents want AM so they can get the kids off to school and then go to work. Daycares want AM as well so in the afternoon the kids can nap. I also have always heard from teachers that the PM class is easier and better bahaved partly because they are rested. I cried when both my kids went to school the first day was out of sadness the 2nd day out of gladness!!!! Finally some me time! Even w/ driving the bus now that Lindsey is in school all day I get 5 hours to my self everyday. YIPPEE

Rock, MJ's right about the pm being a better time. Any teacher of young kids will tell you that. So, if you get a choice go for that one. We didn't have a choice b/c our district goes by neighborhood, too. Robb's lucky (even though we're talking Northampton) b/c all day is the best for children.
