30 Year Reunion Info

Hope everyone is doing well!

We have started discussion about a 30 (yes, 30) year reunion. We need volunteers to help and provide feedback, suggestions, etc.  Please post any thoughts here and provide your email address to become part of a chain email discussion.

Also, join our class Facebook where info will also be posted. We'll try to keep both sites updated, but I think Facebook will became the main provider of info.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/145705772144315/

Thanks!  Dave

Kris Allen Wins American Idol

Did anyone else watch the Finale? I thought the show was incredible!!! I really liked the duets - the show really paired the contestants up nicely with artists that played to their strengths. I LOVED how Kara came and showed up Bikini girl - I almost peed myself laughing so hard.

That was a great Finale - I usually am bored out of my mind with them. I am so ecstatic that Kris won!!! His face when they announced his name was priceless - he really thought he wasn't going to win. Amazing season!!

American Idol - Finale

I only watched half the show again, but I would have to say that Chris is the much better singer. I voted like crazy for an hour but didn't get through very often. I hope to gosh that Chris wins because I can't stand the idea of Adam winning. Oh well, have to wait and see the results show tonight.

American Idol Top 3 - Biggest Loser

I only watched the first 3 performances of American Idol last night and determined that I really didn't like anyone and switched to Biggest Loser finale. I did vote for Danny and Chris since I hate Adam and don't want him in the finale. At this point, I have no idea who will be in the finale - have to watch and see tonight.

I was suprised that so many of the contestants were still somewhat heavy on Biggest Loser. Past seasons that I have seen, all were very skinny at the finale. The final 3 looked great!!! I was happy to see Jerry (age 64) win the $100,000 prize. I believe there was something wrong with the scale when Helen got on because I find it very hard to believe she now weighs 117 pounds. I really wanted Tara to win, but oh well, she does look fantastic.

Anyone else watch either of these shows?

American Idol - Top 4

I really didn't like the show last night. The only person I kinda liked was Chris with his version of the Beatles "Come Together". Danny is definitely not a rocker and picked a song way too big for him. Oh well. Based on last night's performance I would say Danny would be going home, but I think his fans (including me) voted to keep him on the show. I am not going to let one bad performance prevent him from going to the finals. Hopefully everyone else felt the same way and voted.

Have to wait and see......

Look What I Got

Of course, mine has 86 on it. Guess it was my trip home a few weeks ago that made me feel nostalgic. I ordered it then and couldn't wait until it arrived.

I came downstairs this morning all excited, but my family wasn't overly impressed.

What do they know...Tom grew up in the Scranton area, Ida was born in Florida, and John was born in Virginia.

So I thought I'd share it with some other Catasauqua graduates.

Knot Ugly Shrug

In my never-ending quest to become Laura Ingalls Wilder, I started crocheting. Again. I used to crochet, believe it or not. Yes, you've known me for almost 40 years and you didn't know that I crochet. A lady can't reveal all her secrets.

My Aunt Ree taught me to crochet when I was a little girl and it was something that I did on and off. Then I put my hook down and didn't touch it again for about 15 years. Recently, I've learned to knit. It's a skill I really wanted to learn, and I set myself the challenge of learning a new skill every month in 2009. I quickly realized something. I.hate.knitting. I'm sorry, but I do. I can't deal with two needles, it seems like you knit and knit and knit and don't really get anywhere. There's too much counting. Don't even get me started on dropped stitches. But during the course of my skill-a-month challenge, I came to the conclusion that I was ready to pick up my crochet hook again. So I dug out my hook, looked through my stash of yarns, leafed through my favourite book on crochet, and came up with this. The Knot Ugly Shrug. I wore it to work today with the dress in the picture, a pair of cream-coloured Mary Janes from Office and a long string of pearls. I got loads of compliments, and someone said I looked like I was off to have tea with the Queen. I did feel a bit special!

Don't Let The Blog Die!

I was thinking this morning that we all need to start blogging again. Yes, Facebook is fun, but it's not the blog. Come back everyone!
