Carol is having blog issues. She has asked me to let everyone know that the Catty pavilion has been booked for October 7th from 12:00-3:00 for our picnic. However, we were wondering what you all might like to do for food? We thought not to heavy beacause of the wonderful dinner at the Blue Monkey that evening. As you all know, Catty pavilion has grills, so we were thinking maybe hot dogs and hamburgers? Maybe everyone can bring a covered dish? Please advise how many children, and their ages so that we can arrange games for the children to play. Please post any suggestions that you may have.

How many guys are in our class? Just multiple that number by 3 and you should be pretty close to the number of children attending since most of the boys I'm sure have never grown up......
Before you go to far do you know if the interest is there for this. Just my thought but between the poker, golf and the reunion this might be too much for people.
I thought that the picnic was a go. It is a good opportunity for all the families to get together.
Is the poker night going to happen? Is everyone playing golf?
The picnic is a way for people who are not doing the above to get together if they chose. It may not be for everyone, but that is ok. Has the pavilion already been paid for?
This is getting to be a reunion for only the "old cliques" in high school, just like I thought!!!
i havent gotten that impression at all, and carol, i'd also like to know who this anonymous is? if you forgot your password you could at least type you name at the end of comments....and i hope you were just kidding about your planning it comment, i dont think thats the case at all...people just procrastinate and since it's only Aug, feel they have time to respond...is there a deadline for getting the deposit back if there is a lack on interest?
the picnic sounds like a nice idea but I will stick to just the reunion part. Not because of the plannner or anything like that but simply because I don't want to have to deal with bringing the kids then taking them home to a sitter and then getting ready for the evening's activities. I'ld rather just wait and have a nice adult night out. For those of us that don't live in town anymore it might just be a bit of a pain to try and do more.
why not wait and see if the interest is there and if not just get your deposit back.
I thought there was interest in a picnic....I know I planned on attending even though there would be some driving back and forth.
I'm sure there is a strong enough interest to continue with the picnic. Remember from past discussions, the actual reunion was almost a picnic. Yes, people do procrastinate, and please remember that most people are not dedicated bloggers. Give it at least a couple weeks to get a better feel.
Matt, we need to make sure the "other attractions" links are directly linked to the latest discussions of that event.
More on the picnic, since we have until Sept 15, wait until then to make a decision. How much was the deposit anyway? But if we move forward, keep it simple. My suggestion would be to buy hot dogs and hamburgers and charcoal, maybe chips and soda, but generally let people bring their own drinks...and chairs, too.
me and the wife/kids will be there for the picnic. Carol thanks for taking on the job of coordinator and all the joys that come with that job.
2 girls, 5 & 2.
Carol,
Thanks for Stepping up! Don't worry about the lack of response. Like Dave said, the reunion itself was almost a pic-nic until the "Heavy Drinkers" won out (Only kidding - but you know who you are!!). If you need any help (extra coolers, drinks, etc. - Let me know).
Although it will be some driving back and forth and some extra effort, I think it will be cool to meet everyone's kids. It's neat to see the similarities, both physical and in mannerisms, between parents and children. It even looks like older children (like Sonya) will be attending.
We have three kids who will be attending - 38 (yes that's me), 3 1/2 & 1 1/2.
Hi Carol, you are doing a great job planning the picnic! We were on vacation this week so I only got my invite today. We are planning on attending the picnic. We have 3 boys ages 12, 9, and 6. I can hardly wait to see everyone!
will be attending picnic...Brad and I plus kids 12, 6, (7 by then) and 2
