2 - Yes, Wally Walenta paddled me and Bobby Hillman for having a pen fight, and yes I left, but in my own defense, Robb Piotrowski dared me to leave.
3 - Mr. Buss saying " Freese" at the bell
4 - Mr. Semmel saying "Basically" and "Get out your work-a-texts and your Duo-Tangs"
5 - Nuke the Hassler (Tracy Paine wrote it all over the annex before it was demolished)
6 - someone whistling at the board in Mrs. Cole's class to get her attention, and her saying "I'm not a dog"
7 - Music Appreciation
8 - Bang, Bang, Maxwell's Silver Hammer (and all the other Beatles songs with Ms. Lux)
9 - Square Dancing
10 - Watching all those film strips in Mr. Balmer's and Mr. May's classes
11 - Watching the spit ball on Mr. Strein's lip
12 - Sands' notorious "Dr. J." paper dunk in Superka's class
13 - Mrs. Fulton telling Robb to "go back to sleep"
14 - Todd (Mike) Mullen getting under Mrs. Bell's substitute's skin (on a daily basis)
15 - Ms. Kornfiend in the lunch room
16 - The yard stick slap in Art class
17 - Field day at the High School and Catty Playground
18 - The bug collection, the rock collection, and of course the leaf collection
19 - the one-way hallway in 5th grade
20 - The seventh grade trip to NYC and throwing pennies off the World Trade Center AND eating lunch in Central Park with the bums
That's just what came to me in the last few minutes, lets try to expand any of these or add your own.

Ahhhh....it's all coming back to me. Do you remember the time I made fun of Mrs. Fulton's legs. She loved that, I 'm sure. BTW- I dared you once, no the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time !

I remember Mullen pisssing off a lot of teachers -but Mrs. Bell subsititue was beside herself everyday. She had to leave the classroom and go across the Hall to get Mrs. Rothrock and sometimes even Mr. Snyder....it was a daily event to just see Mullen "work it". The best part was seeing him get dragged to the hallway and then hear him giving even more...
I remember two things from the WTC trip...Izaat Stealing shit from the WTC gift shop and Strohl throwing an M80 out the window at the back of one of the buses on that trip -he nearly took out a tractor trailer next to us just outside the lincoln tunnel....dude, the early signs were there!
Stevie - do u recall when that fuckin nut SuperK smashed the overhead when he launched his paddle? "Uh....now see what u made me do". wow. imagine that today...............

i ran in to the art teacher, the one with the crazy curlie hair - about 10 years ago. she was at an aerobics convention when i was teaching that stuff.
i can't remeber her name. she told our class if you want to slit your wrists, cut along the veins instead of across. joey cunningham used to terrorize her.
we were in the 6th grade.

there was a mrs. claus - she had black hair. i loved her. i''m pretty sure that was 5th grade. but that other one...i wish someone could remember her.
i had a major crush on the non-nazi-like hassler. i used to try and impress him by teling thim i watched SNL in my 5th grade science class. tracy p wrote nuke the hassler because he gave all this shit for writing about hiroshima. tracy almost cried. but hassler was a prick to him.
wow. i'm starting to write incoherent sentences. i better go tend to my chores.

Yea, Rothrock, we learned all about religious stuff in her class, but she was really cool. She knew how to handle the characters in our class.

Matt, Pantella was high school, so that story can wait...and wait...and wait.
Robb, I'm glad to hear someone else was listening to rap back then. You had me by a year or two. I didn't start listening until 9th grade (remember the top 9 at 9 (9:00) on Power 99.9 out of Philly? Everyone thought I was crazy, but Matt can attest that I said back then that rap was going to be big.

Judy, I remember Mrs. Claus. I remember her for two reasons:
1. My older brother was dating her husband's ex-wife and she told me the connection (God it was like GH!)
2. Because of reason no. 1, I was scared shitless of her yardstick and the way she used to slap it on the desk!
The other art teacher, the slitting wrists one, I remember her, but I can't remember her name - Ginny something.
I had heard Mr. Villani left his wife for a another man. Mrs. Rothrock was everything I aspire to be as a teacher. Poor Mr. Superka....Joe Cunningham was too much for him.
Hey Andrea - what's with you and no pics, not the kids, not the dogs, not you, not even a marguarita?
Mr. Superka use to keep picture of himself playing college basketball for Georgia, and in the picture he was guarding a hall of fame player. Can you name the player he was guarding?
About Mr. Villani, if you were in my 6th grade section (6-6 or 6-1 or 6-5 or whatever the number was), we only had him for health and study hall. So the memories are probably weak, if any.
I see him every day at Gold's. He is an athletic director or principal or some kind of administrator at Freedom High (in Bethlehem).
I could not remember Mrs. Urland's name, but now it is all coming back.
I remember Mrs. Fulton when she was on crutches and wanted to show us her inflamed knee(s). Robb started screaming, "Nooooooo".
Anyone remember the preposition chant? Repeat after me - aboard, about, above, after, against, along, among, around, at, but, down, during, except, for, from, in, into, like, near, over, . . . I could go on. I recite it for my students in HIGH SCHOOL, they think I am screwed in the head anyway, so this justifies their thoughts.
Ok now this is scary because I still remember the preposition chant also! How could we forget. By the way Steve, you forgot across. I also remember Mrs Costello's entire unit about the Myans and Incas. We had some type of fair or celebration or market or something like that. It was fun.
I always like to impress the English Department at work with the preposition chant.

I made my sixth, seventh, and eighth graders learn it. They weren't too thrilled about that, nor did they find my Mrs. Fulton stories funny.

Did Mr. Bolmer stand in the front of the class holding up what appeared to be some sort of stone knife and drone "Old Stone Age or New Stone Age". Then he would stare out the window for a few seconds and say it again. Or am I making this up. I never new what to make of that guy.
The non-nazi Hassler paddled me once for asking to go to the bathroom. He said it was my hall pass.
Matt I think that it was Ron Hassler who was real hard on Mullen not Breon although I could be wrong.

Kristen - I knew I forgot the b's but I could never do them without the hand thing and I was typing, so no hands available at the time. Isn't it funny how we learned that chant and can still do it.
Carol - we learned it so we could identify prepositions. I hang out with an English teacher who says his 11th grade students can't identify a preposition from a participle or a clause from Santa Claus (or is that Mrs. Claus banging that damned yard stick).

Everyone - isn't it funny how we refer to Bob Hassler as the Non-Nazi? This season on RCN (formerly Twin County Cable), I called it the R-on Hassler C-entral Catholic N-etwork, because he coaches CCHS boys and was on way too often for my liking. I just wanted to smack him right in his overly large Adam's apple (like I wanted to in 6th grade when he took over for Mrs. Varkoni)
Robert Hassler is now superintendent of North Penn School District down here in Lansdale. HUGE school- over 1000 graduates from high school. I'll be putting my daughter in Catholic school- thank you very much.

Steve--"But" is a conjuction, not a prepostiion. Conjunction, junction, what's your function?
ALL--Both Breon and the Nazi Hassler hated me. More accurately, I think Breon busted my balls because he considered me a worthy adversary. Nazi Hassler realized he was not a worthy adversary for me and therefore busted my balls. Does that make sense? More on them later when I have time.
But for now, Matt--Was it Miss Bell who tore us new ones because we spent an entire study hall making Eagles posters right before the super bowl? It came to mind because the actual study hall was in Breon's room and she was covering it for someone else. "Was that ALL you did during that time?!"
i thought we were making the posters for Breon's class as some kind of project or maybe that was the posters that showed mathmetical properties - additive, associative etc.

Mrs Fulton would be so proud of us. I say it to my kids too and they think I'm weird. I wonder what ever happened to Mrs Fulton. She seemed old and ready to retire when we were there. Is today's generation even learning the preposition chant? They are missing out if they aren't.
Does anyone remember making pillows in Home Ec? It took us five million years to make them.
I remember someone standing on a cheer in Mr. Superka's math class. Was it him or was it someone in the back that was trying to see the board....help on that one please....anyone, anyone?

Pauko - I think I remember the Pac Man tablets. When you flip the pages, did they move?
Lew - yes, i remember the blow darts, but i forget who it was, somehow Joe C comes to mind but i'm not sure.
I think Freeman was involved. Because.......he shot me in the neck at the Boys Club. Anyone remeber the Boys Club on Front Street? Padded walls on the 3rd floor?
Blow Darts - I was involved. Joey showed me how to make them and we got in trouble in Mr. Deutch's study hall for shooting a girl (think Jamie S.) in the butt. When we got caught, Joey said, "I'm sorry." and Deutch said, "Don't be sorry, just don't do it again".
I use that line on students now when they say sorry.
Boys' Club - isn't it a chinese restaurant now? I remember hanging out there. Playing pool, regular and bumper. Watching TV in the "cage" with Malcolm. Dodgeball on the third floor. Buying Whatchamacallits and soda on the first floor and spilling the soda on the pool table (the stain was never removed - at least not the last time I was there).

steve, the boys club isnt a chinese restaurant, i think its some type of office building...anyway the chinese rest in catty is now next to the old Angelos, i can remember hanging out there, he was great. MJ and i would hit it occassionally after playing the video games at Space World (was that the name MJ?) where Pies on Pizzaria is now..owned by CHS alum John Landy...enough history for now?
