Anybody want a drink?

So I have good news and bad news. The good news is we are going to Catty on (we think) January 31st for around 10 days. The bad news is this is due to my mom having a heart attack this morning, and open heart surgery tomorrow. We're not making any definite plans until I hear from my brother that she's out of surgery and when she's coming home from the hospital, but it looks like she'll be coming home on Saturday January 27th. My husband is going to Berlin for four days this weekend, comes back Monday January 29th, and then we're off to the States on the 31st.

Anyway, we'd love to have a drink (we're gonna need one!) with anyone who is interested and/or available on Friday Feb 2nd or Saturday Feb 3rd. Blue Monkey? Let me know. I'm looking forward to my visit, even if it's to help my mom recover from surgery. Hope to see some of you.

Thanks ladies, for your kindness. I spoke with her briefly last night after she had catheterization. She seemed really upbeat and the first thing she said to me was "You don't have to come here." I said we'd come just for a few days after she gets home from the hospital so she has someone to look after her on a 24 hour basis and she could spend some time with the kids. She caved when I mentioned kids and said "okay, come then." :-)

Kristen, you only live a couple of streets away from her, don't you? If you can't make it out for a drink, I'll walk over with the kids one day and visit for an hour, if that's okay?

I am so sorry to hear about your mother, but I'm glad she sounds so upbeat.

I will have to talk to Rob to see if I can make a trip up to Catty while you are there. Please give me more details as soon as they are available so I can try to see you.

vicki, yes, i live on 14th st..by cutting through the dead end where 14th would run into the corner of Erie & York Sts. it takes like 3 minutes...the 2 days you mentioned are good for me but not until after 9, so if no one is up for that, definately try to stop, i'm home just about everyday except for some quick trips out to the store 610-266-6265..

Andrea......WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I tried sending a xmas card but was returned to me!!

Well, talked to my brother today and he said we can't wait until she comes home from the hospital. We have to come NOW. So we're flying in to the U.S. tomorrow, landing at Newark at 12:00 noon. We'll be in the country until February 2 (unless something unforeseen happens), so no drinkies for me that night! If anybody local wants to get in touch with me, call me at my mom's. 610-264-3971.

vicki, that doesnt sound good...were there complications with the surgery? if everything is ok, maybe we (a group of us) could get together for drinks this weekend or early next week...doesnt have to be a late night for those that have to work.
have a safe flight!

safe travels & prayers for you Vicki. i'll be curious to hear your thoughts on your first trip to the states in so long.

Vicki,
I truly hope your flight change isn't due to complications. I'll keep your mom and your family in my prayers. I chatted with your mom at St. Paul's Church when I helped with the Lion's Club holiday meal. She talked so much about you and you must know how super proud she is of you! Family is the most important thing in the world and I'm glad you're able to change your plans to be here earlier. Seeing you and the kids will be the best medicine for her! Have a safe flight and please keep us all updated on how she's doing! Take care.
