American Idol is Back!!!!

I am suprised no one else has posted this tidbit.

I'm not sure how much I am going to watch this season since the 1st two shows showed a bunch of losers and very few winners. I can't believe that some of these people really believe they can sing. I've always wondered if they still feel that way after seeing themselves on national television.

Oh well, looking forward to reading some heated debates.

Did anyone else see the interview on Oprah with Simon Cowell? I laughed when he said last season was a popularity contest and not a singing contest and that Taylor Hicks wouldn't have even been in the top 10 if he didn't have that gray hair.

Waiting for a blast from Kim.....

never watched AI until this week. My son and I laughed are butts off. Simon was so nasty to a few that we actually felt sorry for them. I too can't believe they think they can sing. Lots of rumore out there that Paula is drunk during auditions.

Sonya, Idol is always like that before they move to the next level. It is funny, but I'll bet some of them are actors. It is funny and obnoxious at times, but it'll get serious soon.

Hicks was definitely a popularity contest, but that's what Idol is all about.

ditto...how could these people's friends allow them to think they are good?! Most just have to think of it as a chance to get noticed for some other reason...look at the $$$ William Hung is making! Not thrilled with the past two shows though, not as funny as last seasons openers....

what i have been in awe over lately is Jennifer Hudson (from season 4 or 5??) i'm not sure where she finished, dont think the top 3 or maybe even 5, and she just won a golden globe for her role in "Dreamgirls" with Eddie Murphy & Beyonce! to be rubbing elbows with that level already just floors me!

I think American Idol is losing their edge. I wouldn't be too surprised if they fall off the air next year. My kids are 6 and 8, and lose interest after the losers are off the air. The City Auditions are funny and worth watching. After that, I agree it becomes a popularity contest.

American Idol comes from Pop Idol, which they did here in Britain ages ago. It lasted a couple of years and then people got tired of it - and then Simon went to the U.S. where he could make tons more money!

Robb you lost your edge years ago when you got married and had two girls watching American Idol. Next comes knitting! Ha,Ha,Ha!

Rock, you've been away, but when you came back, you came with both barrels. Man, first me, now Robb. Yo Pio, let's get the Cowboy's fan. He is just bitter b/c TO dropped the ball and ruined their year. (I know, I know, 4th and 15 and punted; Matt, you must be festering some anymosity toward me for backing out of the Royal trip). Anyway, let's concentrate on the later Idols; Todd Long's look alike won last year and I think Kenny the other night (Monkey boy) and his slow friend (God Bleth America) were just the beginning of the bad auditions), not to leave out Red; he was saved for last for a reason, but I'm not quite sure what that reason was.... stay tuned Idol worshippers.

Hey, anyone know if there is (was) a contestant from Bethlehem? I tried to watch b/c I heard a rumor but sometimes Simon is hard to watch. He can be such a brat when people don't agree w/him.
If 'monkey boy' really did think he could sing b/c his friends say so, then it's a blessing Simon is cruel. No more delusions after the try-outs!

Please don't ask why, but yes there is a contestant from Bethlehem. I heard he auditioned on the Memphis episode.
Stevie, We may never forget the trade for Eagles versus a night out with laughing bafoons but you will get your chance to reeem yourself !
Rock....I have Lisa's E-mail so you better watch yourself :)

hey everyone. randy, you're so funny...

i have report that i was getting ready for work the other day watching our local news station, Q13Fox News, believe me, only for the weather. they had paula on and she was slurring a little and acting all fucked up. i seriously thought she had a stroke that gave her a speech impediment. she did say that seattle contestants sucked.

i got to work and was like DID ANYONE SEE PAULA??? and of course no one did. later i found it on youtube.

And there she is......... Good to see you on the blog again Judy.

Everyone has been asking about the "guy from Bethlehem" on Idol. His name is Tim Marchetto and this link will let you see what he looks like and hear his voice. http://www.entertainersplus.com/tim.htm

from the sound of that he should make it to Hollywood at least

He was on B104 and could not tell people much, but it sounded like he DID make it to Hollywood.

Hey- I am finally posting.....I did like Taylor because he was such the 'anti-Simon' type. Didn't have that look he always talks about. I agree with Kristen a while back. How can these people's supposed friends let them audition? Some are a hoax but some of those people are dead serious and are just horrible. I feel so bad when they come out crying but someone has got to be honest with them in their lives. These try-outs are definitely the best episodes. Hilarious! I was waiting to see Judy show up in Seattle with her yellow walkman on singin' a tune. (JK- i know Judy doesn't even watch AI or have cable.)

randyg said...

Hey Kim......I'de ask you to golfing but..........(that goes for you to Mare & Judy) JK. How the heck are you? Haven't seen you on here in a while.

Robb, Idol ain't going nowhere. Their ratings continue to increase, and there's nothing out there to slow it down.

Randy, what is the JK for in your posts? Am i missing something here?

mj jones said...
