Aint to many bloggers here anymore??????? I think our 20 year reunion was here and gone????? It use to be exciting to read all the posts but not much posting going on anymore?

Tell us about your summer vacation. Any new hot spots out there we should know about vacationing to?

We visited the Outer Banks for the first time and it was wonderful. One of the most relaxing places I have ever been. Anyone else ever there before?

Ok I love to travel and that is the main reaason I work.... been to OBX for the past 5 years. Love it we always stay in South Nagshead since that is a central point to finding the most things to do. We love taking the kids to Roanoke Island festival park and going to Big Al's for vanilla cokes. The beaches are so great because you can RELAX with your kids since the people are far and few. I will miss it this year but we are going to Southern California instead for 9 days in August, going to Sequoia Natl. park, Hollywood, Santa Barbara and San Diego.

Last week we went to Shangri-La Lodge on Whitefish lake in Ontario Canada. Took mom along and fished our hearts out. First time at this lake and the fishing was excellent. Also did the food plan so I didn't have to cook.(YAHOO) Forrest caught the biggest fish a large mouth Bass that was 20" and about 4 1/2 pounds. The average for the day was 25 nice bass plus other stuff. We spent the afternoons swimming along the locks of the Ridue Canal right near our cabin. I love taking the kids there. No phones no video games no traffic only pure nature and relaxation. Gotta love it. I actually think I could live there but only about 8 months a year(winters are tooo cold). We also have been to Lake Oneida a few times this summer for long weekends but that Lake is a bit big and gets pretty rough for our 18' boat. Still managed to catch fish and have a good time. Forrest likes it there for the Walleye but I don't care as long as I catch fish. Now I bet you never thought I would be such a fisherwoman???

As soon as I go back to work we will be saving up for either Costa Rica or Venezuala. I want to get back to that Blue Water it's been a couple years.

We haven't been on vacation yet this year (today is the last day of school). We're going to the Black Sea in about 3 weeks. It's the first time we've ever gone to Eastern Europe. Normally we head to the Mediterranean or the U.S.A. if we want heat. Last year we went to the Dordogne in Southwest France. I was pregnant and didn't know it, and during those two weeks I ate paté, brie cheese, rocquefort cheese, undercooked egg, drank WAAAAAAY too much wine, canoed, rock-climbed, cycled, hiked, trampolined, and rode a number of roller coasters at Disneyland Paris and Parc Asterix! I'm surprised my son wasn't born with a glass of wine in one hand!

One vacation that I really want to do before my kids grow up is a road trip from PA to FL like we used to do when I was a kid. I want my kids to experience roadside cuisine, stupid signs for Ron Jon's (only 1500 miles to Ron Jon's, Cocoa Beach, Florida!), South of the Border, and those wacky, out of the way tourist attractions like The World's Largest Ball of String, or Roadside America! Now that's a vacation!

Randy.....what did you do in OBX you need to add a bit more info.

Hey Vicki...you're right...it's not a vacation until you see The World's Largest Ball of String:o) But two trips from PA to FL was enough for me! And I did it without children! Then again, maybe it's more fun with the children in the car...you'll have to let me know! No vacation this year, which has me kind of disappointed. When we lived in Orlando, we had annual passes to Disney, so even when we didn't get to take a real vacation, our regular trips to the theme parks were fun.

MJ - I kind of remember catching up on a lot of much needed sleep!!! Sleeping on the beach is the best thing ever. We spent most of the day on the beach and then the kids would swim in the pool at the house we rented until late evening. We went to dinner in Kitty Hawk, Corolla, and Kill Devil Hills. It was just a laid back week. We did find a go cart park and did that one evening. That is tradition when I go on vacation. We'll be headed back there again next year. We stayed in Duck.

Yes Randy I think the blog has all but died. Bummer it was so excting in the beginning......speaking of exciting I am heading up to cubscout camp today for the rest of the week. Nothing like sleeping in a tent when it is 90 degrees. Wish me luck.
