3 months left



Only 3 months until the reunion.
I think it is time to get out a mailing/emailing to all in order to start collecting money and reserving spots for the big events.

Anybody with ideas, please post and post often.

can someone get Pauko to update the list so we know who we are missing yet???
We talked abnout the save the date type card now would be a good time to do it for those who aren't blogging. Unless you just want to move right on to the actual invites.

at this point we need to concentrate on updating the list and finding as many people as possible who are still missing. I wouldn't bother with a save the date card anymore. I would wait until August and send the actual invites like 8 weeks before the event.

Just my opinion of course. Leaving for vacation tomorrow so thats all I can add for now.

Although 8 weeks is a standard "lead time" for an invitation, since we now the details, I'd send the invites now. In the event that anyone is planning on traveling from out of town and needs to use vacation time, it would be better to give everyone as much notice to make these arrangements as possible....

I'll get the spreadsheet updated this week, and put together a document to print out postcards 4-up on cardstock paper (addresses can be imported from the spreadsheet). But if we want to do fancier invitations, let me know, but I think this would be adequate. It would only cost about $40 so I think we should postal mail to everyone (as well as email reminders). I'll volunteer to do it unless one of the officers wants to and can handle what needs to be done.

But before doing invitations, we need to get our functions in order. Is the Friday night get-together happening? I don't think we had a volunteer to host a poker night, so are we just doing a casual hangout at a bar/Catty Club?
Saturday picnic? Did we get reservations and do we have volunteers to run the picnic?

Let's see if we can get everything in order by the end of next week.

Saturday Golf is reserved for 9:00 AM start. I need to finalize the list of who is playing. All hackers are welcomed.

I told the guys at the Blue Monkey that we would be having a happy hour there (nothing big, just a start-up to get people back together)
I will be there at 5:00 (or really close to that time)

Dave, I haven't done anything on the picnic and will be leaving for Myrtle Beach on Thurs (7/13)..wont be home until 8/1 so if anyone wants to run with it, be my guest...

Also, I am bored as hell and would like to start the biography for the reunion. The information from the database will be a start. We need to figure out what we want to put in the biography book (I will take care of printing/copying and making an electronic version) so if people could give me ideas of what information should be included, it would be greatly appreciated.

Steve, did you mean a happy hour before the actual reunion, or a friday night happy hour? I've sent you a (long) email with a task list, so to speak, as well as the updated contact list. We can work together from here by email.

Carol, can we list you as a contact person for the picnic? It would probably be best to have a small committee to organize the picnic, but we need someone to start working with the officers to make it happen, reservations, etc.

Dave - no actual deadline to get in on the golfing. Just need to get an idea of how many people so we can decide on a format to play. More than likely it will be a "Scramble" (best ball) and all just for fun.
