Last night Santiago Gillespie there sent me 4 more of the Scheckler class pictures with the intention that i'd post them all on the blog today. unfortunately for you kids i'm not as nice as him. those pics are like candy and we don't want anyone getting a sugar rush. we'll do one classic photo per week. and then as they are posted i'll add a permanant link to them on the sidebar like i did with Lew's.
i'm hoping this blog can hold people's interest for quite a while. we've already seen some people who were active the first week kind of disappear. so now we're keepin the sugar on a nice slow drip...

If Matt had only waited another hour...
Basketball season is finally officially over for me and with the extra time I have now, I was going to post my "bio" and get Dave off my back.
But I don't want to bump this little gem - it certainly deserves to be on top for a while. So I will do mine tonight or tomorrow.
nobody should worry about bumping the previous post. everybody, even Lew, knows how to scroll.
btw - i spoke with Traci Pursell and Bob Hillman yesterday so hopefully they'll be around soon.

Well in my defense.....(Matt you'll pay for this one) trying to figure out how to get the class photos to Matt to post I accidently sent the picture to the left. Those of you trying to figure out how to scan and post pictures.....you have to first drink one of these and then one of those. So then you to can accidently post something that you'll regret later. Have a good one with this one....I can take it.

Midday - Mom and Dad are doing just fine. The just got another weiner dog like we had growing up. Both are retired now....but work part time to keep occupied.

Andrea...funny you mention banana seats...I was at the bike shop the other day and they have the old banana seat Schwinn bicycles for sale again. Man...do those bring back memories.

Okay, it's 5:30 a.m. I get up and suddenly there are 56 comments under Randy's post, Andrea's having a tastyKake moment (which I can't get on this side of the Atlantic!) and you're talking about some picture I can't see!!!! Help me people! Feed my addiction!!!
You know, I now divide my surfing time between this blog and a forum for American Expats living in the U.K. Currently on that forum there is a 6 (yes s-i-x) page thread discussing the all the goodness of Hostess Fruit Pies. I'm afraid to even mention tastyKakes.

Kristen---Good laundry rule. Unfortunately, we don't usually get to start ours until 7 p.m.
Vicki---Well get in there and stick up for the 'kakes! Be true to your school! Or snack. Whatever.
Speaking of tastykakes - of the funniest things I've ever seen in person in my life, most involve Todd Long doing something.
We were at a Penn State game - I think the Ohio State game in 1994 - and long-e brought his tastykake truck for us to tailgate out of (I hope this doesn't get him in trouble - Randy, I'm looking in your direction).
He also brought a small helium tank to blow up some balloons to fly high from the truck to make it easier for the people we were gathering with to find us [I was smart, I waited and drove in behind him so I could dive right in to the food and, uh, adult beverages].
So later in the day, after some tasty food, cold beer and cocktails, and a great game, we were all feeling good. Long-e especially. For some reason, we all break into song - singing of course, the tastycake song [Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a tastykake...]
Not to be outdone - long-e takes a hit of helium and - hand to god - starts singing the tastykake song and sounds just like one of the munchkins that Judy Garland met in Oz (the movie, not our Judy in Seattle).
I thought I was going to pee my pants. And when he was done - he did it again. Too funny.
NOTE TO SELF: Remember to order helium tank for the reunion...

ahh there's a good memory. I don't think we actually went into the game that day. It was just one long tailgate party.
A tastykake truck at a Penn State game???? Sounds like a future road trip in the making.
Mullen & LongE...here's another tastykake memory....when I was first learning to drive (brown ford maverick) my pop took me out driving all through town and things were going really well.......until I pulled back into our own driveway.......crashing head on with his tastykake truck. Let's just say that ended my behind the wheel time for several weeks. I thought it was pretty funny at the time.....but he sure didn't.

I forgot one part of the story....My pop was awarded a "safe driver" award from tastykake a week earlier and now he had front end damage to his truck.......Whooops.

Yes Randy...the T-Kake truck was a good tailgating machine....picnic table....gas grill....keg of beer, tv....etc. I would consider doing that again.

Do you guys still go up to see any games? I get two tickets a season, my choice of game every year. So if you guys have a certain game planned out let me know and I'll get my tickets for that game as well. I was at the Wisconsin game this season (2nd largest crowd ever) man that place was rockin.
Randy---My wife and I and another couple were at that game too - rockin is right! My wife can get tickets (sometimes) and that game we were able to get four, along with two parking spaces on the actual macadam parking lot. But we only took one car. Why? So we could set up the beer pong table in the other space obviously!
What a friggin' blast! We had a couple pre-game cocktails (in honor of Long-e) at Damon's at the bottom of the hill and then went up to start our tailgate around 10:00 a.m. I think I actually get better at beer pong the more I drink - isn't it supposed to the other way around?
Good times, awesome game. BTW - I don't want to jinx it, but my wife is working on tickets to the Notre Dame game for us. We already arranged for a babysitter - just in case...

Although it's hard to top four people in their late-30s [shudder] playing beer pong in the early morning shadow of Beaver Stadium. We attracted a crowd - even the security staff came to watch us every now and then. Good times.
that sounds like a blast. wish i could have been around more to hang and create those fun memories with you guys.

How is Brad? I haven't seen him in a very long time. I read your bio and it sounds like you both are doing well.
We need to start a Middle School Memory lane. Does anyone have any class pictures from Middle School? Did we even get Middle School class photos? I waiting to tell a really funny story about gym class in middle school that involves Tim C.
brad is good, busy as ever...hey i told a middle school story..go for it, and i know your just picking, i can take it i dont think we got class pictures in middle school. and i only found 1 middle school year book here, it was brads, and we were in 8th grade
Let's start a "Middle School Blog" and then I'll tell the story. Hopefully Tim C. will chime in on it. Maybe it will jog his memory as well.
