Picnic ON!

Thanks to all of you feverishly making phone calls. Patty got the small pavilion at the Catty Playground (A few phone calls and one conference call - that was so cool - I never did that before). Now we need to work on the food. We need to work quickly and efficiently.
The pavilion has electricity, grills, and water, so go for it folks. Let the organizing begin. I will get checks to Patty ASAP (have to secure it by Thursday), and we will work on the rest of the organizing NOW.

Very cool. Thank you, Patty! (I have deleted my previous post.) If it's the small pavillion by the basketball courts, we could use tables if anyone has them. I can probably come up with a couple tables, and I recommend everyone bring chairs if you need them.

Steve, what budget do we have to spend on food?

I didn't hear any objections yet from Sonya for the two of us to work on organizing and bringing the hamburgers and/or hot dogs, condiments, cooking stuff, etc. I think we could even purchase a couple cases of soda, and depending on budget, chips, etc.

So for everyone else, you can start listing the side items you would like to bring. I don't think we need an exact list, but should have a general idea.

Thanks everyone.

Dave I assume they are talking about the small pavilion on the other side of the park and I am sure there are plenty of tables.

Yes, it is the small pavilion on the Walnut Street side.
As for food, I really think we should keep the budget to a minumum. Remember, this is a last second organized event and we aren't sure how many people will still be coming. I am going to send an evite to see who is coming and ask them to list what they can bring.

If you need portable tables our company has several of the folding tables that we are allowed to use anytime needed. I would just need to know how many so I can get them there. Since we are playing golf at 9:00 would someone with a pick up truck be willing to get them there at noon time?

For those of us who have no idea of the roads in Catty, where is this pavilion in regards to the pool, basketball court, or three dips????

I will do whatever the powers that be want me to do.

I was thinking, instead of everyone bringing a side dish or type of dessert, why don't some of us bring the main food???

For example, a few people could bring 8/16 hotdogs with 8/16 rolls, others bring hamburgers and rolls, and one or two others could bring condiments.

I think that if everyone brought a side dish we may have too much food.

What do others think?

Steve - i got your email invite, nice work.

and great job to you Patty, thanks!

food - i agree with Steve and Sonya. i don't think it is asking to much for a bunch of people to bring some meat, rolls and soda. if everybody just brings a bunch of stuff, it should work itself out randomly. but if somebody (Dave) wants to try and organize, knock yourself out.

Thanks Patty for getting the pavilion and thanks for all those organizing the event. It should be fun.

STEVE no evite recieved here.

MJ - I only sent the evites to those who said yes or maybe they would attend the picnic. I thought it was not right to remind people who said no, I didn't think they wanted to be bothered.

MJ - My typing (once I read it) seemed a bit harsh. It was in no way intended that way. I hope you did not take it negatively. I would hate to have to fight you at the beginning of the picnic. I still lift, but not in fighting shape.

Disclaimer: The above dealing with a fighting was intended as a joke and should be taken that way.
