IRON PIGS

Has anyone been to the Iron Pigs yet? We went last friday. Rained the whole game.
Fireworks were cancelled and the Pigs lost. We did have a good time though. It is a very nice park. Hopefully next time we will be in the Diamond club or the Suite my work has. If you get a chance go and check out the park it is definetly a good thing for the Lehigh valley. They just need to start winning!!

Yes we have been there they lost od course, we have tickets to go with Austins Scout troop and again for his birthday. I agree the team stinks but the stadium is nice and it makes for a affordable family outing that's close to home.

I have been to a game too and they lost. It is a beautiful park and fun. We hope to get to another game before the end of the season.

The local ball parks are a fun, family activity. We have the Lancaster Barnstormers that opened their park a few years ago in Lancaster city.

Would someone please tell me why you would name a ball team the Iron Pigs? I have been hearing about this team and I just don't get it.

Carol, you could find info about that at mcall.com, i'm sure...but the iron of course references the steel industry, cant recall why pigs...but there was huge controversy over the mascots name too...originally won by a little girl who entered "pork chop" in the contest (and won) but apparently offended the puerto rican community so they changed it to "Ferrous"...huh?

Thanks for the info, Kristen. It still seems like a funny name, but I guess there is some story behind it.
