Dining Out

We've done pets, gaming and football.

What's your favorite restaurant or eating out food? We love Indian food. We get take out once a week. My department (Languages) has its Annual Christmas Curry with Math, History and Geography, but last night we threw caution to the wind and went for curry in February too. There's always too much choice on the menu, I'm very indecisive and so I end up asking a friend in Math to order for me. He's never steered me wrong and last night I had palak paneer samosa followed by murgh chana. Gorgeous! I think Indian food is underrated in the U.S. and we as a nation should eat more of it.

MJ, get your mind out of the gutter!

MJ, you went from pets to football to games and skipped over food, went right for the foreplay.

Vicki, I'm not sure what all this means, "last night I had palak paneer samosa followed by murgh chana. Gorgeous!", but it seems like a freaky position followed by some odd noise made by one of the participants. Correct me if I'm wrong.

wow Mj, i must be slipping, my mind didn't go to the gutter until you took us all there. can i have Forrest's email? you're either oversexed or undersexed, either way he should know.

Vicki - i'm with ya on the Indian food, pretty much every friday we order out for either Thai (fav-drunken noodle) or Indian (Vindaloo or Tikka Masala). is Indian popular all over Britain or just in the bigger cities?

hey at least I got the comments going, just couldn't help myself.

to answer your question Vicki I love going out for dinner any time I don't have to cook is a good thing. Never tried Indian but I do like Chinese and anything seafood is a plus. However we usually just end up at TGI Fridays, Applebees or some place kid friendly but now that Austin is older and ordering off the adult menu we tend to do take out at home more than going out because of the cost. Salvatores in Macungie has the best pizza and on Thursday they have an awesome deal. If we are lucky Forrest and I will do a nice dinner out every couple of months leaving the kids at w/ grammy.

mj, i also cannot believe, after 25 years of "Brad" that i did not think dirty! anyone who knows him will know why!

anyway, the dining out is few and far between here also, 1/2 of our vacation itinerary revolves around where to eat! my favorite Myrtle Beach stop is a place called Cagneys, the best for lobster & steak. As far as chain restaurants go it would have to be Sticky Fingers (ribs!!)

family outings usually consist of Friendly's, Damons, Rookies.. there is a new place (and the last place we went) where Yesterday's used to be in coplay...it is now called Samuel Owens, good for burgers, homemade fries...Trisha is not good to take out. at Owens, she threw her crayon across the room, luckily it did not hit anyone...

Tonight is delivery, probably chinese because Jake & I are off to a girls/boys doubleheader (basketball) starting at 6, so of course i cannot cook, no time!!

Matt, Indian food is hugely popular all over Britain. India used to be part of the British Empire, after all. Vindaloo? Hard man! The one and only time I ate a Vindaloo my eyes watered for two days afterwards! Ever had a fahl? A friend of mine made the mistake of ordering one once (even after the chef came out of the kitchen and warned him not to) and he left the restaurant with a nosebleed!!

Whenever we're in the U.S., we have to go to Ruby Tuesday. My husband loves their fajitas.

Steve, that's why I do yoga. ;-)

never had Fahl, sounds painful. we took our parents for Indian once and even though we steered them away from the spicey dishes the scars are still there, too different from the PA dutch inspired fare they grew up on.

MJ - I have to admit when I first saw the post early this morning my mind went to the gutter. It made me laugh.(I deal with construction workers all day)

Kristen - Are you ordering from "Yung Ho's" tonight?

Vicki - all this Indian food talk only makes me think of the movie "Along Came Poly". I love the part when she finds out he has IBS and can't believe he didn't tell her about it but continues to say that it's all good because he's lost 25 pounds since he met her. LOL

Have any of you locals tried the Cactus Blue yet? Still my favorite place! Grumpy's is another good one.

Vicki, Boooooo. I liked the other heading. Change It Back! Change It Back! Change It Back! Change It Back! Change It Back! Change It Back! I think I speak for many who enjoy the humor of Eating Out! Of course, you know I'm just kidding; your post, your heading.

i'm surprised, the brits are usually less uptight about censorship. what would Benny Hill say?

mj jones said...

yeah change it back otherwise those who don't blog every day won't get the humor

I assume Indian food is popular in the UK because....as I have heard.....British food tastes like shit.

Vicki, see what I said. When it was "Eating Out", there were a plethora (Orgel word - Does anyone else remember that blasted ORANGE vocab book?) of comments, but when it changed to "Dining Out", the comments ceased (another Orgel word). Now will you change in back?
