My daughter and my neice found these behind my mom's shed, half buried. They look like eggs, and we've googled all kinds of things, but can't find anything to tell us what they are. I didn't think we had snakes this big in PA. Could it be my mom's neighbors had a gator for a pet and let it loose? Any thoughts from you hunter/gatherers out there?

Vicki, the pic did not make it.
Wow! I have no idea what they are, but holy moly. I will forward the pic to the bio teachers in my building and see if they can ID those eggs (especially Fred Ross, since he is a Catty Guy).
When I enlarged the pic, it seems that they may be gourds. Look at the one on the right, see where the stem attached?
one other thing, the lumps are what made me think of gourds. Unfortunately, I don't think you found dinosaur eggs, just gourds.
Yep, I see the stem! However, there were several of them, all in a little group, partially buried. Strange...Why would someone half bury a bunch of gourds? And don't they look hatched? Show them to the bio guys anyway SeƱor El Presidente, if you don't mind. Thanks.
Oh My Gourd!!!!!!!!
Animals probably buried them and then others came along and scavenged the flesh from inside.
Randy, are you doing the same thing I am? Waiting for the game to begin (get your mind out of the gutter, man).
I'm not going to tell Georgia they're just gourds. She'll be devastated!
Vicki, let her think she found something spectacular, we just don't know what they are.
Bummer. They even looked like eggs up close and personal.
I'm going to bed right after kickoff. I can't stay up until 4 a.m.
Steve - I'm actually working and going to watch the game. Hopefully I don't screw up someone's building plans while watching the game.
Steve - what's the prize for the person who guessed the closest on the game predictions?
if they were just covered by leaves they might jsut have grown right there and never left the plant, thus the grouping.
so who was closest with the score?
best commercial? my vote - Life comes at you fast, Federline.
Mugs was closest 28 - 17. First he sees old Mrs. Haney (who has not been with us for at least over 15 years now) and now he's predicting game scores???????
Jeff P. came in a close 2nd.
My favorite commercial was the blockbuster commercial.
Vicki, coincidentally, I saw this in today's newspaper.
Dinosaur eggs.
