Attention members of the Class of 86 its time to select the music for the reunion. Each class member can request 2 songs (it doesnt matter if you are attending the reunion or not, send in your request), that should give us enough music for the evening. If not, we can have a 2nd round of requests.
Please include the artist, song title, album or any other info that will make it easy to find.
Pass the word to those not "blogging" everyday or those with no computer access and take their request.

What a great idea to get everyone involved!!!
Okay, I'll start......
"Turning Japanese" and any Ramones song.
"what i like about you"..was that the Romantics? my first memory of this song is listening to Shelia's brothers practice in their attic and them playing at the YMCA dance!
Mony Mony by Billy Idol and Walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles.....of course while I was seaching I also liked Dancing with myself also by Idol. I know you said 2 but I can't help it.
This is what I came up with off the top of my head....
Pop Muzic by M
West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys
I also second Kim's "Turning Japanese" but wasn't going to waste one of my two stating it again.
Kristen: sheesh...
"I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz (sp?)
How about:
"Danger Zone" from Top Gun
"I wanna be Sedate" - Ramones
P.S. - I too would have suggested "Turning Japanese"....good call MJ.
That was Good Call...KIM!!
B-52'S - ROCK LOBSTER
CLASH - I FOUGHT THE LAW!
I'm going with one hit wonders of the 80's:
Mickey - Toni Basil
Come on Eileen - Dexys Midnight Runners
longe.....are you serious?
how about "safety dance" who sung that
steve.......what?
hi lew - how ambitious of you. here's a few fun ones for you to find: it goes band, song, album
oasis - rock and roll star - definitely maybe
wilco - a shot in the arm - summer teeth
clap your hands and say yeah - the skin of my yellow country teeth - clap your hands say yeah
beck - girl - guero
i can send you the .mpgs if you need them.
Kristen-it was Men Without Hats
judy,
oasis & wilco are in.
yes, a little too ambitious is right, but i will deal.
just in case i screw this up, bring a shit load of quarters for the jukebox.
Kristen: I was a member of the "Shelia's brothers."
Also knew the "Men without hats" but Donna beat me to it.
A-ha, "Take on Me"
Sonya, all I can find is Pop Muzak by Mousse T. with Roachford. Is this correct??
stevo is that your official request?
Come on MJ...that was a classic dance song from the era. I can say, however, that it reminds me more of Sunday night Teen night's at the Maingate, rather than Catty dances.
Lew,
This is the information I found online.
Pop Muzik by M
Album: New York London Paris Munich
Date: 1979
Longe.....I just had a thought maybe that is the song you gave it up to.
just kidding
steve, oh, its you, the other steve, i was thinking freeman...had i known it was you i wouldnt have questioned that!! heres to good times!
Steve,
Another good call on A-Ha....That was my very first CD!! Classic MTV Video too.
Jeff
MJ...couldn't have been. I didn't give up up til the late 90's.
Who did the song.....Money for nothin'...chicks for free....."?
Longe--Dire Straits........."i want my, i want my, i want my MTV"
(the good old mtv!)
Longe--late 90's? what took so long? (appropriate last name) i always thought you were a little slow
comments about the dress remind me of a song, not from the 80's but is all about the 80's...by Mark Wills (country artist) Song is called "nineteen somethin'" on his greatest hits album...talks about star wars, stretch armstrong, parachute pants and farah fawcett hair....that may stir some fun conversation!
kim - double dutch bus is officially on the play list.
btw- the gap band
how about some john cougar mellancamp...small town, jack & diane...
kristen, your wish is my command..............its done.
Can't have a 86 reunion without representation from the 80's hair bands. In honor of spandex, big hair and the forgotten guitar solo.
I suggest:
Queensryche - Eyes of a Stranger off of Operation Mindcrime and
Tesla - Modern Day Cowboy off of Mechanical Resonance.
Long live the Hair Nation, rock on!
ray you are officially representing the "house of hair", your request are in.
