In late August we went to Ocean City, MD for a long weekend....definitely wasn't long enough. This picture is of my daughter and I on the boardwalk. We had great weather and saw 4 dolphins in the ocean.

I always loved Ocean City and wish we weren't so far away...or we'd be heading there instead of NC.
Where did you stay?
OC is nice in the off season, but Jamie, you will love NC better...however your first couple days may be rainy due to hurricane hanna...you must try going pre-hurricane season
jamie....if you have to evacuate you can come here, plenty of room.
OMG Jamie finally gets a vacation and a hurricane comes through. YIKES

michelle, your daughter is beautiful! i like ocean city better in the off season also. but my children and i also loved nc. we had some great times there!
hope Jamie is ok because here comes Hannah. the sky is getting dark and the wind is picking up. And we are pretty far inland, can't imagine how bad the beach areas are already. Our gov. keeps coming on tv to say don't come yet if you have vacation plans. I guess this officially ends our weekend plans for Charleston.
We stayed at a condo called the Beachmark on 74th. It was oceanfront and really nice. We are going to try and go for a week next year. Regarding my daughter, thank you. She is also quite the spitfire. I would love to go to NC but that drive seems soooooo long.
