Well, there's a lot of cake left. Not because it didn't taste good (it did) but because it was a big cake. The kids were completely freaked when Chris put a big chunk in his mouth, and then Georgia dug in, and then they all managed to have some. I'll post more pictures later when I figure out how to pixellate faces, because I don't want to put pictures of other people's kids on the internet.
We took the kids on a late night hike because the local country hall and park had an "Enchanted Garden" evening, and the gardens, house and village church were all illuminated. There was classical music playing, it was really nice, but very spooky. The moon came out just as we went by the church.

cool pics...bottom one looks like a scene straight out of Dracula
Wow, I am jealous!!
I think you should post the recipe of that cake. Sounds like your daughter had a good time at the party. For the visual affect of that cake, it's great!
Michelle, it was so easy to make. You need:
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 box yellow cake mix
1 box vanilla pudding
1 large packet white sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 tootsie rolls
new cat litter tray, washed
new pooper scooper, washed
Bake both cakes. When they're cool, break them up and put them in the tray. Make the pudding and mix it in to the crumbled cakes, a bit at a time. I ended up using the whole box of pudding, but you don't want the cake to be soggy, so mix in a bit, then feel, and keep going until you're happy with the consistency. If you have a food processor, whiz the sandwich cookies around in the food processor until they're crumbs. If you don't, just put them in a ziploc baggie and bash it with a rolling pin. Mix 1/4 cup of the crushed cookies with the green food coloring (so it looks like the chlorophyl in the kitty litter). Mix 1/2 of the remaining cookies in with the cake/pudding mixture. Sprinkle the remaining crumbs over the top of the cake/pudding/cookie mixture. Zap the tootsie rolls in the microwave (3 at a time) for about 10 seconds, so they're pliable. Shape like poop. Stick randomly around the cake (or up the side, so it looks like kitty didn't quite make it!). Then sprinkle over the green cookies and voila! Kitty litter cake!
something i've never heard (and hope to never hear again) in a recipe..."shape like poop"!!
