I have to say some of the singers really impressed me last night. Chikezie and Carly Smithson blew me away with their songs, while I though Brooke White did a very nice rendition of "Let It Be".
I still can't believe the judges like Amanda Overmyer. I really feel that her voice is like nails on a chalkboard and I thought she was horrendous last night. I really couldn't understand the words she was singing. I thought this was also the first really bad performance from David Archuleta, but I am confident he will go to the next round.
My pick for going home tonight is David Hernandez or Kristy Lee Cook - although I really wish it was Amanda but I think she is going to be around a little while longer. She reminds me of Nikki from Season 1 who finished 3rd. David H. may stick around because of all the publicity, but hopefully not.
Have to wait and see tonight!!

I agree with most of what you said except I like Amanda because she is so differant. David H has to go and I think Kristy or the girl who went first may go tonight. At least I found it to be a bit more entertaining last night I like when they add the rock aspect to songs. David A better step it up or he may get ousted too.
I thought it was a pretty good show. But why the heck is tonight's show one hour? How long does it take to tell one person they are going home?
i didnt see all of them last night, but what i did see & liked was david cook, brooke and carly...i also cannot understand Amanda and didnt like her...

I am happy to see David Hernandez go. When he sang again last night, he sounded even worse than I remembered from the night before.
The season is suddenly looking up!!! I didn't really think there were any real good singers in the bunch the previous weeks, but this week's show changed my mind. I am actually looking forward to next weeks show.....although Ryan needs to calm his little attitude down for me.
I am also getting very tired of Paula kissing every perfomers #%@. When Simon leaves the show, I don't think I could watch it anymore unless they replace him with someone exactly like him. Guess we will have to wait and see....

I saw Simon on Regis and Kelly and he said that American Idol told them they would pay him more money not to return to the show in - I believe - 2009.
I was devastated to hear that, but he said he would be stupid not to take the amount of money they offered him.
was he serious or just joking? didn't he create the show after all. I can't imagine it would be the same with him gone. I say get rid of Paula half the time she is so tongue tied she doesn't even know what she's saying.
He was very serious.....I agree, they should get rid of Paula - last show she kept telling all the singers how great they were. She needs to get a backbone and tell people when they don't do well.

I think they got the right ones this week. Truth be told -David Archuletta should have gone home based on the week alone, but he is too popular. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Rumiele go home....she's been in the bottom 3 the past few weeks.
For the record, I think the Finalists will be David Cook (He can ROCK!) and Carly Smithson....Kristy Lee would have went home last week -if she wasn't so HOT!!
