Could it really be twenty years already?

If you are reading this you most likely went to Catty High School and graduated in 1986. So we have a couple things in common (besides being precariously close to middle age). Names like Big Daddy, Myrtle, and Banana Head(RIP), instantly conjure up faces. Places like the bridge and the three dips mean something to you. You can recall that hollow empty sound of study halls in the auditorium. Let's not kid each other, high school was a different experience for each one of us, I'm certain it had good points and bad points for all. The thing is...

shit, I'm stumped. I don't where I was going with that.

The point was if you are interested in catching up with old friends and hearing about what other people you graduated with have been up to, check in here from time to time. Make a comment. Better yet, if you want to post some words of your own or some pics, just let me know and I'll set you up as a contributor to the blog. It is real simple. If you are computer savvy enough to check and write email - you can blog.

Feeling shy about commenting or posting? click on "mathbach" under "Contributors" and send me an email. If you have email contacts for anybody else that we graduated with please pass them along.

Who knows, maybe we'll toss around some ideas about an actual reunion.

I/we look forward to hearing from you.

There was some [brief] discussion over the name of this little corner of the world wide web. And I'll let my fellow classmates speculate as to which of the original four "contributors" was most critical. [Is it really that hard to figure out?]

But in the end, it was Matt's choice to keep the original name - '86 Class - and I support that decision. I also commend him for including a link that, if we choose to explore, allows each visitor to draw their own conclusion about the name of the blog - and, ultimately, consider what it says about each one of us and our time at CHS.

Thanks for putting this website together. I am interested in a 20 year reunion, I haven't seen anybody in years!!!

I was shocked to actually get a useful e-mail from Classmates.com! :-)

Seriously, it is cool that you have put this blog together. However, I do have one bone to pick. How can I be close to middle age when I haven't even figured out what I want to be when I grow up?

Hope everyone is well.

Welcome to the blog Sonya and Donna. How have you two been? Catch us up on what you have been doing the last 20 years.
Wow, just saying 20 years makes me feel old.....

mathbach said...

i dunno LongE - why don't YOU kick things off and tell everybody what YOU'VE been up to for the last 20 years?

(btw all - be warned: Mullen, Paukovitz, LongE, Jackson and myself have remained in contact throughout the years and, given the chance, will pretty much just be dickheads to each other)

Wow 20 years. Catty graduation seems like yesterday. Too much boozing I guess.

Even not given the chance. I can think of one or two unprovoked barrages over the past two decades...

Yeah... Just one or two... Good times...

Ok, I'm checking in for the first time. I'm really hoping we get more people to post and maybe it'll even lead to some kind of reunion, or at least a night out drinking.

Here's my quick bio. Bounced around PA for a while. Married Catherine Kopcza who I met as she was in my sister's Stacey podiatry class. Moved to Rock Hill, now Fort Mill, SC, just below Charlotte, NC about 7 years ago. Worked at Cathy's podiatry practice for a couple years. Have worked at the Bank of America doing computer support for almost 5 years (ugh!). Now, I am on the verge of opening a running store (hopeful opening this April).

Two kids, Lindsay 23 months and Benjamin 9 months. Great kids. Check out www.paukovitz.com. I hope to have it updated in the next couple weeks.

More later!

Welcome Vicki,
Someone mentioned you are out of the country. If that is true, where are you? What have you been up to over the past 20 years?

It's amazing to read what everyone has been up to for the last (gulp) 20 years! It is true, Todd, I live in the United Kingdom and have since 1995. My husband is British and we were introduced by mutual friends (not online!) 12 years ago and the rest, as they say, is history. He really likes Catty. Well, he said "I could live here" which is pretty emotional for a Yorkshireman. He's an engineer who is retiring from work in a few months time to be a stay at home dad (baby number 2 arrives next month). We already have an eight year old daughter (Georgia). She's completely English but can do an authentic American accent when she's in the mood! I'm a Spanish teacher, on maternity leave right now but returning to work in September.

Hi everyone. This is so much fun to be able to hear from you. I can't believe it has been 20 years! I don't feel old enough to have a 20 year reunion. I am living in Lititz, PA and my married name is Carol Good. We have three boys, Josh age 12, Brenden age 9 and Dawson age 5. I am a busy mom and also am the office manager for my husband, Perry's, construction company called Good Homes & Additions Inc. Vicki, I can't believe you live over seas. Hopefully you can come for a reunion if we have one. It would be great to see everyone again! I also hope lots of people make comments here.

I have been working for the federal goverment since I graduated from college and live in Southern Maryland. I am still not married but engaged.

Why don't we stop talking about a reunion and actually start planning one?? Matt, you said something about sending our e-mails to you. Where exactly do you want them sent?

LongE said...

Wow Dan the Man. You really hold a grudge. I heard about that incident a few days after it happened, from my brother who told me you emailed him bitching about me. Did you ever consider I didn't see you there? I had no idea it was you. I had never been at that bar before, and really only talked to the bartender and the girl I met there...who by the way is a good friend of mine, and her and her husband live right up the street from that pub. You boys knew her as Robin Girard in high school...friend of Gina's.
Anyway Dan-O, I almost sent you a nasty email a few days later, but didn't think it was worth it. I would have enjoyed talking to you that day and catching up on things. In a way I was actually pissed that you didn't tap me on the shoulder and say hello. Was there a reason you didn't say hello, or did you just prefer being miserable?
Anyway....hopefully we can catch up sometime soon. t.long@rcn.com is my email if you want to berate me some more in private.
Wow....and all this on my birthday. Must be time for a cocktail.

hmmm, just like high school.

i'm going to stay out of this squabble and just say it is great to hear from you Dan. (and not just because now LongE can bicker with somebody besides Mullen) i hope all is well with you.

send me your email so i can set you up to make a post. i like where you are going with the Blue Monkey idea.

being in the area, do you happen to have contact with anybody else from our class? i've been in touch with a few others and i'll give them another week or so before i start dropping names and shaming them into making their presence known.

LongE said...

I still haven't gone to the Blue Monkey, but I have heard good things about it. If I run into Dan there, i'll extend the olive branch to him. If he doesn't accept it, i'll just drop it in a martini.

LongE said...

Hey Dan....sounds good with the tourney. I love those first 2 days...all day action. I'll be there.
I see Arlena occaionally...I think the last time was at the Brew Works, but that was quite a while ago. Dan...what about Lew Walker? Ever see him around town?

mathbach said...

i have a phone number for Lew (and Kathy) i do need to call him.

pauko27 said...

Dan, good to hear from you. I don't get back home too often, so I'm hoping the reunion can fit my plans. Are there others you can get in touch with?

Hello everyone.
Glad to see someone is taking the bull by it's horn an organizing something for our 20 years. It's pretty funny to read some of these blogs. I guess we won't see Joe Strohl at the reunion????? I did see him several years back when he was out on parole. He was all bulked up and full of tattoos. I ran into Rob "Pio" at a surprise birthday party. Hey Todd...you got any out of code TastyKakes??? Man I miss those things since my Dad retired. I miss raiding his truck. Focker......Out!

tmmullen said...

Good call on Joe Strohl. I was wondering how long that would take to come up.

randyg said...

Hey Mullen
What about Marc Regits. I thought I read something about him a long time ago???? Did I have the wrong name or just bad information?

kristen said...

randy, i'm pretty sure marc was killed in a car accident, anybody else recall that?

randyg said...

That's what I thought I read. I just wasn't 100% sure if I had the right info.

mathbach said...

i had not heard that about Marc. good to know so we don't call his family asking where he is.

i know about Chris Henry, is there anyone else who has passed.

i had heard a rumor about Tracy Hicks many years ago. recently when i contacted Bill Meyer, his wife Janelle (Jackson) confirmed that Tracy did have cancer and told her she was not going to have it treated.

a few years ago i also heard that Judy had stomach cancer.

?

randyg said...

It's kind of weird, but I know a lot of people from CHS who have had different types of cancer??? Scary stuff!!!!!

randyg said...

Let's not forget about Fred Farrah (hopefully I got the spelling correct)

Vicky said...

My mom saw Judy last year at her dad's funeral. She lives in Seattle (I think, I'll ask my mom.) and is indeed being treated for cancer (for the second time). I hadn't heard about Tracey Hicks.

kristen said...

i also havent heard anything about Tracy Hicks, but I did hear that Judy has or had breast cancer?
