Big Day for Dave

far too modest to mention this i'll have to do it for him...

Dave is opening a store/business today. an old fashioned brick and mortar, customers and cash-register type store. he hasn't been real forthcoming with the details so all i know is that he will be selling running shoes. (he is still a pretty serious runner) anyway i just wanted to say good luck to him on this the opening day of in his entrepreneurial endeavor.

oh, it's his birthday as well. and none of this is an April Fool's thing, seriously.

  1. Pauko - And you had some nerve saying that I became a geek when you are just an April "Fool". JK and Happy Birthday & Good Luck with the business. It sounds a lot like the Finish Line here in Allentown.

  3. Congratulations on the start of your new business Dave! My husband was worried we'd have an April Fools Baby (we didn't) but I said hey, it's okay. He'll have the same birthday as Pauko! Happy (belated) Birthday!

  5. Ah, it's good to have friends to put you in the spotlight. Matt, seriously, do you really know I'm telling the truth? Thanks, everyone, the first day went well even though we really haven't done much advertising. We still need a couple more weeks to get everything in order, and have an official grand opening in about a month. It'll be a few months before we can really determine our 'success'.

My partner in this endeavor has his own 'main' store in downtown Charlotte (ours is in S. Charlotte - big money area), and so his expertise is helping us get started. If this store is successful, our ultimate goal is to maybe open another store or two in the area down the road.

When I get around to doing my real bio, I'll write up more and post some pics.

    Tx again.

  8. happy belated dave. and congrats on the store. my best friend has a sneaker shop in ocean city, nj and has been pretty successful.

funny, i'm going out to buy a pair of running shoes this very afternoon. i used to be a big runner and had to quit (had a 2nd knee surgery a ways back). but now i've just registered for my first triathlon and am starting to train for it. whoohoo. oh yeah, the knees have been hurting.

    anyway, way to go.

  10. Do you have an indoor running track so customers can try the shoes out?

  11. Longe, no, we're not Dicks's. But we allow customers to road test their shoes, which is where most of them will be running anyway.

"Outdoor exercising"...you should try it sometime.
